Shaping Future Hospitality Leaders:
HRH Experts Address MLSU Inductees

The Tourism and Hotel Management Program under the Faculty of Management Studies at Mohanlal Sukhadia University organized an inspiring induction and orientation program for its incoming undergraduate and postgraduate batches on 16th July 2026. Held at the FMS Auditorium, the event aimed to introduce freshers to the dynamic world of hospitality, travel and tourism while familiarizing them with the university's academic culture.

In line with a shared commitment to nurturing local talent and fostering industry-academia collaboration, key leadership figures from the HRH Group of Hotels were invited as special guests to address and motivate the students. Mr. Andrew Batey, Executive Director of Special Projects for the HRH Group of Hotels, alongside Chef Love Mathur, Corporate Chef-Food Production and F&B Service for the HRH Group of Hotels and Mr. Soumajit Chaki, F&B Cluster Manager, shared valuable, real-world insights into the daily operations of luxury heritage properties, the evolving demands of global hotel chains and the art of curated guest experiences. They emphasized that long-term success in this thriving sector requires an equal focus on refined soft skills, personal discipline and deep cultural empathy.

Welcoming the students to the campus, Prof. Dr. Meera Mathur, Director and Chairperson of the Faculty of Management Studies, highlighted the growing global significance of the tourism sector and the vast career opportunities it presents. She urged the incoming batch to develop a robust blend of managerial acumen and a dedicated, service-oriented mindset. The orientation also featured interactive sessions with prominent alumni and other leaders from Udaipur's thriving hotel sector, successfully bridging the gap between classroom theory and practical field knowledge.

The day concluded with a comprehensive campus tour, introducing the freshers to the program facilities and the e-library. The event wrapped up with a networking high-tea, providing a vibrant platform for the new students to interact casually with senior batches, faculty members and the visiting HRH dignitaries.
