Udaipur Welcomes the SolarButterfly's Climate Mission

Professor Roger Buser and Mr. Tobias Hieltscher, representing the SolarButterfly team, recently visited India to advocate for environmental awareness. Their journey included a stop at Shikarbadi Hotel and The City Palace, Udaipur, where they presented their innovative solar powered vehicle to Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Executive Director of the HRH Group of Hotels.

Led by Louis Palmer, a veteran of solar-powered travel, the SolarButterfly team is on a mission to traverse the globe, spotlighting sustainable solutions and connecting with environmental pioneers. Their ultimate aim is to showcase these solutions at the COP30 United Nations World Climate Change Conference in Belém, Brazil, in 2025.

The team's global journey is driven by several key objectives: to raise awareness about critical environmental issues, highlight existing solutions to the climate crisis, foster a network of climate pioneers worldwide, present these pioneering solutions to policymakers at COP30, and inspire widespread adoption of sustainable practices. As a symbol of transformation, the SolarButterfly aims to inspire more people to make positive, sustainable changes.

The SolarButterfly is traveling the world for four years to visit approximately a thousand sustainability projects. The butterfly-shaped caravan is constructed from oceanic waste material and uses solar panels to power both itself and the Tesla that tows it.
