With the inauguration, taxpayers can easily visit the office to get their questions or problems resolved. Mr. Sanjay Agarwal, Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), stated that the building has been designed keeping in mind the convenience of taxpayers, while also ensuring an environment-friendly setup. The inauguration ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Executive Director, HRH Group of Hotels; Dr. Mannalal Rawat, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha); Mr. Chunnilal Garasiya, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha); Mr. Phool Singh Meena, Member of Legislative Assembly, Udaipur Rural and Mr. Arvind Poswal, District Collector, Udaipur. The GST Bhawan features a conference hall, meeting hall, data analytics cell, library, interrogation cell, and a guest house. Sitharaman emphasized the office's role in serving 13 districts and the importance of reducing GST-related grievances through effective information sharing. During the event, Sitharaman also launched ICETAB 2.0, a handheld device designed to enhance customs operations by enabling real-time report uploads and faster cargo clearance.
