Tue, 06 Sep Meeting with Ms. Yolanda EzendamMs. Yolanda Ezendam, Head of Collections Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands (Part of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science)Programme of International Heritage Cooperation, Amersfoort,Netherlands held meeting with Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Trustee, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation. Ms. Yolanda was in Udaipur from 5th -11th Sept 2022. She discussed approaches of looking at the shared heritage, and the connections that existed between Mewar, India and the Dutch/ Netherlands as early as the 1700s The purpose of the visit was to explore the possibility of collaboration, to have a knowledge exchange, identify possible shared challenges and together conserve and promote the shared legacy.
On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi festival Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar visited pooja pandals of Udaipur and offered prayers. He visited Bapu Bazaar pandal and offered prayers to Udaipur Cha Raja. He was invited as Chief Guest by Pratap Nagar Vikas Samiti at their Ganesh Pandal at Adarsh Colony. Ganesh Chaturthi, also called Vinayaka Chaturthi, in Hinduism, 10-day festival marking the birth of the elephant-headed deity Ganesha, the god of prosperity and wisdom. It begins on the fourth day (chaturthi) of the month of Bhadrapada (August-September), the sixth month of the Hindu calendar. |
