A wonderful meeting with Mr. and Mrs. John Everett

Shriji hosted Mr. and Mrs. John Everett, friends of very long standing and regular visitors to Udaipur from Australia who were visiting London for lunch at Clarkes restaurant, Kensington Church Street.

Lunch with Mr. Santi Choudhary and Mr. Krishna Choudhary

Mr. Santi Choudhary, Royal Gems and Arts, Jaipur and Mr. Krishna Choudhary hosted Shriji for Lunch at The Arts Club Mayfair.

At the exhibition “The Lotus within” by Ms. Olivia Fraser

Shriji accompanied by Ms. Deepika Ahlawat attended an exhibition of paintings in India by Ms. Olivia Fraser “The Lotus within” at the Grosevnor Gallery, 35 Ebury Street SW1. Olivia has had numerous single and group shows in the UK, India and Nepal and also illustrated her husband Mr. William Dalrymple’s book “City of Djinns”. Following in the footsteps of her ancestor James Baillie Fraser who painted monuments and landscapes in India in the 1880’s, Olivia set out to continue where her ancestor had left off painting the architecture of India and its people.

Ms. Patricia McFarlane and Mr. Richard Hanlon hosted Shriji for dinner at La Colombiere, Fulham.

Wonderful viewing the exhibition ‘Splendours of the subcontinent’ exhibition

Shriji accompanied by Ms. Anne Buddle, Head of Collections Management at National Galleries of Scotland visited The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace for the inauguration and pre private Viewing of the ‘Splendours of the subcontinent’ exhibition (Edward VII ,Prince of Wales 1875 - 1876 visit to India).

Shriji met Mr. Tim Knox, Director, Royal Collection Trust, Royal Collection Trust, York House, St James Palace and was shown the exhibits by Ms. Kajal Meghani, Exhibition Assistant Curator of Royal Collection Trust, York House, St James Palace who curetted the jewellery section of the exhibition and also wrote the catalogue. Shriji also met Ms. Emily Hannam, Assistant Curator of Islamic and South Asian Collections, the Print Room at Windsor Castle.

Gifts presented to the Princes of Wales during his eight month long tour of India in 1875-1876 have been on display at an exhibition Splendours of the subcontinent that has toured the UK from March 2018. The exhibition is currently in London at the Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace until October 2018.

After the Prince of Wales returned from his tour the gifts were displayed so the public could see them at the Victoria & Albert museum in London, One of the items exhibited was a Sarpach presented to the Prince of Wales by Maharana Sajjan Singh.
